  1. Delightful blog about your journey to build a tiny home. We are similar in the fact that my family and I our on a quest to downsize our life. We are moving in 3 to 4 weeks from a home of 2,000 sq ft to a living space of about 750 sq ft? That is a guess. All I know is that we have been in the process of getting rid of our stuff for about 3 months, sadly have not even made a dent, (we are a family of three, not including our three pets) So when I came upon your blog, yours and others are a helpful reminder of what our mission should be, simplify our lives and not to over-consume. My gratitude is yours, Allie.

    • Hi Allie. I completely understand how hard it can be to downsize. I’ve been downsizing for a couple of months as well and it seems endless the amount of things one could accumulate. I still feel like there is still so much work left to do and we’ve already made tons of trips to goodwill. My hope and goal is that with a tiny house there would be no way we could accumulate nonessential items and consequently there will be less waste. I wish you luck on your move. -Jen

  2. Hi Jay, Hi Jen,
I so enjoyed meeting you (Jay) the other day at your build site. What a fortunate coincidence! We are Sarah and Joseph and we’re your tiny house building neighbors up here in Petaluma! We look forward to being in touch and to exploring your website.
    yay,
    Sarah and Joseph

  3. I love your project! My name is Whitney, I am completing a Certificate at Yestermomrrow Design Build school in Warren, VT. For my project I am researching the availability of homeowners insurance for tiny homes. If you own a tiny home please take a few moments to fill out this survey. Thank you for your time! https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/DXXW3X3

  4. I’m so glad I found your site! Me and my partner have just secured our trailer and will start our tiny house soon! We are in the bay area (Berkeley) and could use all the advise we can get! I would love to sit with you and chat about your process and receive any wisdom you might have from the experience!

  5. Hi! I’m Fallon! I’m also in San Francisco and I”m just beginning my journey to build a tiny home. I would love to maybe meet if you don’t feel too weird about that. Maybe shoot me an email or something. I’d love to see your build in person. I also have a dramatic dog who wears bandannas! 🙂

  6. Hey guys!
I just stumbled across your blog since my boyfriend and I are also starting out on this journey. We live in SF at the moment (9th and Howard) and are hoping to move down to the peninsula to find a nice piece of land :). I am just wondering how you were able to find land to live on? We are having such a hard time find land and would welcome any advice you have! Thank you so much in advance!!!

    • We utilized Craigslist and put fliers up in areas we were hoping to park our tiny house. It took a little while to find a good fit for us in an area that works for us but its definitely possible! I wish you good luck!
